Friendship in Action
This child didn't know how to swim, but with the help of a nose plug, some goggles and a kickboard, she learned how to hold her breath underwater and is making great progress in learning to swim.
A special thanks to the teaching skills of our volunteer, a former PE teacher.
“I’ve been through a lot. I was lucky that I had a great support system to get me through my hardest times. Now I am able to get out of bed in the morning. I want to show others they can get through anything too.”
Beth, age 47
It's not how many friends you can count -- it's how many friends you can count on
“My world had fallen apart and I felt deserted. My compeer volunteer was a sudden light. These days I am so much better and my compeer friend is a huge part of it.”
